The JKD-516 is a standalone photoelectric smoke alarm developed for apartments, flats and multi-family residential buildings. Using a photoelectric reflection sensor, the detector continuously monitors for smoke particles and activates an audible alarm of at least 85dB at 3 metres when smoke reaches the specified sensitivity level.

A combined Test/Silence button allows users to verify normal operation and temporarily silence nuisance alarms after confirming there is no fire hazard.
